Jacqueline Briggs Martin Website

JB Martin
Some of my earlier books are no longer available from the publisher. Even though these titles are still favorites with many readers publishers need to make room on their backlist for new titles so older books are not kept in print. That does not mean however, that the books are not available to read and share. Your local library is one of the best places to go to find books that are no longer available in book stores. However, if you want to purchase a book that can not be obtained from the publisher you might also check used book stores. The WWW has made it very easy to check throughout the United States for a specific book.

Finding Out-of-Print Books

  • Check your local public or school library.
  • Bizzy Bones titles might be found for purchase by searching the Bibliofind Site.
  • Finest Horse in Townwas originally published by Houghton Mifflin in 1992. For several years the book was out-of-print and difficult to find for purchase. We are happy to announce that The Finest Horse in Town has been re-issued (Fall of 2003) by Purple House Press.. Jacqueline says, "The story is based on two aunts of my mother's who owned a dry-goods store in Maine from the 1880s to 1920 and also owned, according to a watchmaker who knew them, "the finest horse in town." The book is a series of speculations on what might have happened to the sisters and their wonderful horse. I have always hoped that readers who enjoy the story might make up their own speculation about an adventure the sisters might have had with their horse." Check the book out on its book page, The Finest Horse in Town..
